there were a lot of comments about the strike zone - especially in Wednesday night's game when I read through the archive. Happily, I think we are done with the Red Sox for the year... to the best of my recollection anyway. Of course, the Rays and Toronto are still in our future and they are both pretty formidable opponents. Heck, we're starting a series with the Rangers today that could be pretty tough. But I enjoy that about baseball.

I missed the 6th inning on... I will say the ump was infuriating me with his inconsistent strike zone. It didn't work for or against either team (i.e., I am not complaining about the ump as a result of the loss) but the ump was very generous low and outside and called balls from the middle of the plate in... wonder if he wasn't situated correctly. Aggravating to watch to say the least.

I am likewise happy to be done with the Twins for the season. While we have a great record against your boys, the team still scares me every time. It's a great team in a great park (so many doubles!!!) for your stellar pitching staff and conscious hitters. We will hopefully see you again in the playoffs for a great matchup.

Kudos on the victory and best of luck during the rest of the season (especially against the Rays and Red Sox!!) :)

I missed most of this game. I imagine I would have been saying, "Shut Up Dick!" a lot, since Mauer still has not hit his first Target Field home run.
