Scott Simon did a beautiful piece on this issue this morning on NPR Weekend Edition Saturday . . . http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=127495176
Maybe it really was a "perfect game" just not the recordbook kind . . .

Seems like Gardy's recent suggestion about having a couple of red cards to toss each game is a popular one . . .

I agree with Babs, whatever they come up with shouldn't lessen the pressure to get it right during the play rather than afterwards . . .

Enjoy the day!

I gotta say that I would be unhappy if they over-ruled the game and honestly, I really don't think that Selig has the balls to go against tradition that strongly.

As much as I believe in getting it right - I think it's important to get it right THEN. Changing it afterward takes the pressure off but it takes the pressure off if you know what I mean. Do I think it's time we provided another resource for umps? Perhaps. I'm not sure what I would want the rules on its use to be. But if it is voluntary for them? I could go along with that.

On the other side of the equation is this - when they make verifiably WRONG calls, they should be penalized - no matter how stand up a guy they are. Things happen on the field, but there should be consequences. There are for everyone else.
