This team needs a break out game to shake this slump. It won’t be easy against old friend Johan Santana, but let’s get it done anyway!

There hasn’t been a whole lot to get excited about during this interleague road trip, but you have to give credit to Carl Pavano for matching up with Roy Halladay and Johan Santana and coming away with a couple of wins. Baked goods to the four guys who each doubled in the first inning, to stake Pavano to a 4-0 lead (Hudson, Mauer, Kubel and Young), but there can be no Boyfriend of the Day but Carl “the Stache” Pavano.
I would like to point out that I called it. Twins beat up on Johan. So there. 😉
P.S. Gotta give Stache some extra credit, too, for going 2-for-3. Kind of adding insult to injury.
Indeed, two hits (giving him 3 for the road trip) makes him one of the better offensive producers on the team this week, too (unfortunately). I think the power is all in the mustache!
Hooray for the mustachio’d one!
I said in Fridays comments that the Twins were going to win Sat.
but I didnt expect a shutout. horray!
The more I think about it ….it really is a bizarre intersection in the story of both pitchers. Reinforces my opinion that sometimes it’s just the wrong player, on the wrong team at the wrong time. And sometimes it’s all about the right player being on the right team at the right time. And how that fit is the most important part of the equation and the one least likely to get anyone’s attention.
Clear as mud? 🙂
That’s almost zen-like Jamar! Personally, given the sorts of disclosures regarding Johan that came out this week, this could just be summed up by that old saying…”karma’s a bitch”.
But I still think it’s the mustache! 🙂
