Don’t forget that the Bitch Sox also have AJ Pierzynski. Having Ozzie, Manny, and AJ all on the same bench could be really entertaining, and I’m not talking about the idea of a beefed-up Bitch Sox that could steal the AL Central title from under the Twins’ noses!

I do come by the Bucky Badger allegiance fairly naturally, since my mom was born and raised in Wisconsin. My Wisconsin allegiance ends though, at the Packers. Skol Vikings!

Frank Thomas. I hated him when he was playing because he seemed like he murdered Twins pitching. But, now that I am older and wiser, I can appreciate the talents of The Big Hurt. The dude could rake AND hit for power. He never struck out and drew about a billion walks. You could say he was a bit ahead of his time because now teams value players who can hit, slug , and walk without striking out (it was probably good back then, but there is such a premium on players who do that nowadays)

I’d say “great minds think alike” if it weren’t for the rediculous Bucky Badger allegiance you’ve developed, tdow.

I’m surprised about two things regarding the Manny claim by the Sox. (1) I’m shocked that their ownership was willing to throw almost $4 million down on a bet that Manny could be enough to help them overcome the Twins’ lead. That’s a lot of money to put down on a long-shot. (2) I don’t really understand those Sox fans that are upset about the move. It didn’t cost anything except the owner’s money. It just seems like the kind of “I know it’s a long shot but we’re going for it!” gamble that most fans WANT to see their ownership willing to take. You might think they needed bullpen help more, but if there isn’t anything terribly helpful out there for pen arms and you’ve got an extra $4 million burning a hole in your pocket, why not try to outscore your opponents?

Maybe I just don’t get as wrapped up in the whole “character issue” stuff as other people do, especially when it only involves a few weeks at the end of the season.

I went to the University of Minnesota, and for football, I root for the Wisconsin Badgers. If the UofMN decides to ever seriously upgrade their football program, I might be convinced to switch allegiances, because it really kind of stinks to not root for my alma mater’s team.

Ah, the headcase that is Manny Ramirez in the same clubhouse that the headcase that is Ozzie Guillen resides. Just think of the potential drama! I wish I could be a fly on the wall when Manny chooses to be Manny. That may spur some visits to WSI for my dose of schadenfreude. As for Frank Thomas, I shared the fear when he came to the plate against the Twins. When he was still playing, he was a force to be reckoned with, and if he does not make the HOF on the first ballot, that will be a travesty.

Lastly, I am glad I am not the only one who was thinking about Magic Numbers today!
