I’m sorry, but this “retaliation” crap is just stupid.

Did anyone honestly think that Konerko was hit on purpose? No.

Was Cuddyer hit on purpose? Absolutely. No one questions that.

Buehrle and Ozzie should have been ejected immediately. Warning or no warning, if the Umpire believes the pitcher hit the batter intentionally, he should be ejected (and hopefully fined.)

Unless MLB starts taking this seriously, someone is going to get hurt. And when they do, then they’ll start wailing on about it should have been dealt with before.

On a similar note, Jeter is a fraud. It’s a shame – I’ve never liked him because I think he’s overrated and he plays for the Yankees, but I still always thought he deserved his rep as a stand up guy. Its sad that a guy can lose his integrity this badly just because he’s in a slump. He’s so desperate to get on base that he is willing to play dirty. Funny – the people defending him seem to be the same ones who attacked A-rod for his dirty tactics. If we needed a sign that the Yankees are getting desperate, here it is.

Drop the theatrics, guys. Leave it to those of us who do it for a living. Play the damn game – its what you’re paid for.

I’m off to my Thursday CSI & pizza nite (which tonight will be Baseball & Pizza Nite) so I won’t be chatting, but I want to remind everyone about k-bro’s September Food Drive ( http://kbrobaseball.blogspot.com/2010/08/doing-something-good-again.html ) . . . It’s not too late for some of the rest of you to put your money/food where your mouths are . . .

sniff sniff… it’s always so sad when good things come to an end. Like when the last opportunity of the season to kick the Bitch Sox in the ass rolls around.

Speaking of sentimental issues… Is this the last time the Twins will face AJ Pierzynski (at least as a Bitch Sox)? I think it may very well be.

I will also be watching for signs that, with their playoff hopes pretty much snuffed out and having demonstrated no ability whatsoever to beat the Twins between the lines, the Bitch Sox might show signs that they’ll try to do so other ways. If Buehrle turns headhunter when DY comes to the plate or someone takes a cheap shot at Mauer or breaking up a DP at 2B, it will be interesting to see how the Twins respond. When it comes to being whiney, bitchy, pieces of crap on a ballfield, nothing the Bitch Sox do would surprise me.
