Nice job on Part 2 . . . and thanks for the small nod to Nicky Punto . . . who seems to be the little guy who guys love to hate . . . but who is one of my favorites :) It may be my NL roots, but I'm willing to trade a bit of offensive power for a great glove and some enthusiasm . . . I hope this is not Nicky's last season, but if it is, I will miss him.

I'm enjoying your summaries, JC. Thanks.

So the 6 have started all but 3 games. For the lazy among us, who were the other 3 pitchers who each started 1 game? We all remember Matt Fox, I'm sure, but who were the other 2?

I really should add... with all of the points raised about the roster decisions that the organization made and how they led to the ultimate success of the team, arguably one of things that worked out best was NOT trading for Cliff Lee or another starting pitcher. It's hard to imagine Lee or anyone else available performing as well as Brian Duensing has done since being inserted in to the rotation. That said, I'm not sure Bill Smith deserves a ton of credit for not making that trade because, by most accounts he actually did pursue a deal, but simply got outbid for Lee's services. So that situation could be more a matter of turning out lucky, rather than necessarily being smart. Either way, as one who was on record in favor of getting Lee, I'll gladly admit Duensing has thus far showed all of us that it wasn't necessary to go outside the organization for starting pitching help.
