"Who is the RH Jim Thome?"

A lot of people think Vlad Guerrero. I mentioned Marcus Thames in a prior post and I've also floated Troy Glaus in some discussions elsewhere. Some folks are spooked by Glaus' injury history and wonder if he'd stay healthy but I remind people that Thome has had similar issues and is not exactly a slam dunk to stay healthy either. Regardless, I suspect Thome will be re-signed anyway unless he truly has lost his mind with regard to salary demands.

Totally agree on the bull pen. It just doesn't matter. Bring in Kobayashi would at the least be a sign that the Twins cared about their new 2nd baseman. Heck, he might even be an asset to the bull pen. The team as is will be weak in OF speed and weak against LH pitching. Who is the RH Jim Thome?

Maybe not, Ben, but I tend to separate ballplayers rather simplistically in to young and old based on whether they're 30 years old yet so Baker gets the benefit of being "young" this final offseason. Likewise, Nick Blackburn will, I believe, hit the big three-oh before the start of the 2012 season as he's only a few months younger than Baker. Until then, however, all five of the current Twins starters are still in their 20s... thus "young". :)
