Good Call, JC. There are bound to be injuries that cannot now be forseen, and I do not buy into the notion that there is any such thing as a starting pitching "surplus" in the Twins camp right now.
Furthermore, even if Gibson is ready in a few months, the Twins will get better value if they make these other teams sweat it out for a couple months with AAA call-ups and converted relievers, rather than trading at a time when it seems to me a bit impulsive.

Agreed. I saw the headline for this and was prepared to be...unhappy, but I take it back. S**T happens, and we seem to have a historically fragile rotation, both physically and confidence wise at times.

yanno, lisa, I've got some hives on the back of my hands, too. I thought it was just an allergic reaction to some hand sanitizer, but maybe you're on to something... too much trade talk!

But you're exactly right... it's almost unheard of for the Twins, or anyone, to just run through the season with the same rotation from start to finish. I know we're hoping Gibson will be ready to step in after a couple of months, but games won in April and May are every bit as important as those the rest of the year. It would be a shame to fall well out of the race early due to shortsightedness.

Thank you, JC! This trade-Frisco-trade-Slowey-trade-somebody talk has been giving me hives! I totally feel the Twins aren't ready to make that decision just a couple of weeks out from the day P&C reported to camp. And I cannot remember a season in which the Twins confidently started the year with a ro' of five starting pitchers and then happily ended...well, let's be honest here, ended May with that same ro' tearing up the competition and looking stable.
