I would really like to see Baker have a good outing today as he’s been announced to close out our starting rotation. And I would also like to hear a little bit better baserunning than yesterday.

Well it’s fun to win, I wish we could have scored some more runs after that 2nd inning spectacular but knowing baseball, you take what you can get. It’s fun to see these guys just about ready. Baker still had the weakness for the long ball but the rest of his pitching was pretty good. I think Cuddyer and Morneau are still getting their rhythmn down on swinging the bat but it’s pretty obvious that the rest of the lineup is falling into tempo. So excited for the regular season!!!!
So Orioles pitcher Bergeson got injured in the first inning and was replaced by Mike Ballard – no one seems to know who he is which is funny – but I don’t know what the injury actually is.
Well it certainly didn’t take D. Young too long to strike again today!
yeah that was a fun inning for the Twins all the way around.
Looks like “Home Run Baker” is at it again 🙁
yeah, but this has been a better outing than the previous one though. 4 K’s helps. He’s always going to be somewhat susceptible to the long ball – kind of the style of pitcher he is.
Gotta say, Baker is bringing me down a little. But for Brendan Harris this could be an uglier game!
Baker comes away with a “quality start” despite giving up the two dingers. Not a bad day’s work in spring training, even if it was against the Oriole reserves, for the most part.
Interesting side note… of the nine position players in today’s starting lineup for the Twins, all but one (Morneau .133) are batting over .300 for the spring and two (Kubel, Young) are over .400 at the moment. Not bad.
Like I said, Baker looked better today which I will take as a good thing. I’m kind of suprised by the hitting because they always say that Pitchers are more ready in spring than Hitters are but I’ll take it. I’ll especially like it that kind of thing continues through the regular season – with the expected ups & downs.
My guy Hoey didn’t have a very good inning. Disappointed to see that.
