He looks like he’s throwing the biggest, baddest fastball ever. You wedge that little baseball back in the palm of his hand, and he’ll have a devastating changeup.

Overhand delivery, too. Hoey should be able to flick his fingers over the top to impart some vicious topspin. This guy should have an amazing hard curve ball, 12 to 6.

Frankly, with a delivery like that, Hoey should be able to develop the same repertoire as Tim Lincecum. Of course, Lincecum has the footwork and coordination of a gymnast, which he was as a kid. That background explains how he can literally throw his whole body into a pitch, and still control the ball within inches. Hoey probably doesn’t have that background.
