Really awful news on one of Smith's bad trades. This, of course, has nothing to do with Smith trading him, but Wilson Ramos was kidnapped last night in Venezuela.

Send good thoughts his way...that kid needs to grow up to be the star whose potential we got to see.

Agreed JC. I think they have to bring him to Ft. Myers and hope he improved over the winter. I was very sceptical last year when he showed up two weeks early for ST. He refused to wear a Twins jersey or a Twins cap. Instead he wore his sponsor's capris (Yup, Effing capris) and worked out by himself in a back field preening for the Japan press and collecting big yen from his sponsor, which I refuse to name. I knew right there and then that Nishi was a fraud.

I actually hope we're all wrong about Nishioka, in general. In a perfect world, he shows up to ST and shows what scouts apparently saw in him in Japan, making all of us eat crow for doubting him. I'd love to be proven wrong about him.

We will know alot about Terry Ryan when he gets around to addressing the Tsuyoshi Nishioka issue. Will the Twins eat the remaining $6 million owed him? This is uncharted waters for the Twins. I predict Nishie will be in the starting line up in 2012. I hope I'm wrong.
