hmmm… you guys are getting me thinking. We haven’t done a book review here on Knuckleballs in quite awhile… anyone want to jump things around on their reading queue and add some reading suggestions for a post? Might have to do that myself..

Apparently JC’s son and I have a lot in common. I only have to *think* about getting a player jersey and that player will be traded. I don’t think I have any of the current-style jerseys (not to mention that two of the three older ones I do have never turned up after I moved into my “new” house — oh, where are you, Milton jersey?? — which is why I end up wearing my Morneau All-Star jersey a lot), so a new one might be in order. At least I know who Nishi is.

As I’m starting the (probably long) transition to full-time genealogist, my Christmas gifts were mostly reference books related to that and a voice recorder also for that work, but I did receive The Game from Where I Stand: A Ballplayer’s Inside View by Doug Glanville. My reading queue is quite long already, but I’m really hoping to read this before the season starts.

Another damn fine post JC. If your current management gig doesnt work out I think you have a writing career to fall back on.
Maybe Anthony Slama’s engagement will get him back on track to be a servicable pitcher. Somehow I doubt that will happen. He is currently a Class AA pitcher at best. I hope he saved all of his signing bonus because he is two years away from selling life insurance as a full time job. I do like him as a person as he is a first class guy.
I wonder if that Nishi jersey was on the 50% off rack? What to do with Nishi? I think you send him to Rochester and forbid him from “pounding the heaters.” Nishi is a two- pack -a-day smoker. That just might send him back to the Land of the Rising Sun.
