As well you should be, Kris.

Try not to take the "criticism" of BJ too personally. Pretty much ever since Radke retired, the Twins have been telling their fans that every strike-throwing 89 mph pitcher in the system could be the "next Radke" and after seeing one failure after another in the Twins rotation for the past couple of years, it's not surprising that a significant part of the fan base has become a bit jaded. So when the minor league POY is of a similar mold, there's bound to be some eye-rolling.

There's nothing BJ can do about that. What he can do is work hard, get stronger, and be receptive to coaching. He seems like he's doing that, so let's just see how things play out. Thanks for reading and thanks for taking time to share your comments!

We up here in Manchester are very proud of BJ. I keep reading how he doesn't strike out enough guys, well all he does is make outs and eat innings and many guys have had long careers doing just that. Seems like thats what Brad Radke did for many years.

YF! It's great to hear from you again!

I read that this is the first series between our two teams since mid April and that the Twins actually won a couple of those games, with Pavano and Marquis getting the Ws. Yes, that was a LONG friggin time ago!

And yeah, if it all comes down to execution, who the hell knows how these games will go?

Not that you asked, but from this YFan's perspective, I don't count any of the next three games as a "gimmee." It is no secret that the Twins have nothing to play for except as a spoiler, but that the team and its fans would be more than happy to spoil. Motivation is a non-factor. As for ability, any educated fan would see the Twins' recent domination of the top-tier Tigers, and their ability not only to pitch reasonably well, but to put up runs (10 against the aforementioned Tigers, 6 twice against the Indians...)

So it isn't motivation or ability, which means it comes down to execution -- and the Yankees have been known to utilize the aforementioned assbats themselves from time to time. All in all, I am looking forward to the series as it is shaping up to be everything I like about competitive baseball.

Good luck! (but not too good! ;)
