Another day I’ll be working through the game and not here to chat with you… *sigh*
Be sure to read Steve’s post for injury and roster updates since the Twins are making some moves. The only good news from today I can think of is that the Angels doc gave Liriano a “second opinion” that agreed with the Twins doc so… they got one right and can go ahead and make some decisions from there?
Sorry – MLB is being a bit slower than usual today and they haven’t put out the lineups on the official page yet and I was too rushed to go see if someone else had put anything out. You’ll just have to chat without the lineup grid today!
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | R | H | E | |
Minnesota | 0 | 3 | 0 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 6 | 9 | 1 |
LA Angels | 4 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 3 | 0 | 0 | x | 10 | 14 | 0 |
I neither saw nor listened to any of the game today, but from social media updates (what did I do before Twitter?) I know that Joe Mauer hit his second home run of the season and that was the only scoring for the Twins. Let’s just leave it at that.
It also appears that Mauer will not be catching either game on Monday. Gardy apparently indicated Joe would DH both games or play 1B one game and DH the other.
We will also be learning about at least some of the roster adjustments necessary to make room for Dinkelman and Waldrop Monday and Hendriks on Tuesday. Word is that one of the two 40-man roster spots that must be freed up will likely be handled by putting Nick Blackburn on the 60-day DL, which makes sense.
Labor Day double header coming up on Monday, gang, and it’s against the BitchSox who are playing pretty much as poorly as the Twins so this should be interesting. – JC
